Donation Refund and Cancellation Policy

The Avodah Connection has applied for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. Donations are not currently tax-deductible, but we will provide documentation if our status is approved retroactively. During this period:

  • All donations during this period will be held until tax-exempt status is received and prior donations are confirmed as tax deductible. This ensures that in the unlikely event tax-exempt status is not received and the donor would like a refund, the funds will be made available to the donor.
  • If status is not received, the donor will be notified via email and phone and have 30 days to decide if they would like a refund.
  • After 30 days, the funds will be released to the project and not available for refund.

Post Tax Exempt Refund and Cancellation Policy

One-Time Donations: Refund requests for one-time donations must be submitted within 30 days of the donation date. Requests made after 30 days will be considered on a case-by-case basis at the organization’s discretion. To request a refund, please contact us at refund@theavodah.org or 732.829.2249 with your donation confirmation number and reason for the request.

Recurring Donations: You may cancel recurring donations at any time by contacting us at refund@theavodah.org or 732.829.2249. Cancellations will take effect with the next scheduled donation. We cannot cancel or refund donations that have already been processed.

Processing Timeline: Approved refunds will be processed within 10-15 business days and returned to the original payment method. Please allow additional time for your financial institution to process the credit.

Exceptions: Refunds may not be available for:

  • Donations made more than 60 days ago
  • Donations where funds have already been designated to specific programs or projects
  • Donations made in honor or memory of someone where acknowledgment has already been sent
  • Donations received through third-party fundraising platforms (subject to their policies)

Tax Implications: If you receive a refund for a donation you claimed as a tax deduction, you are responsible for any tax implications and may need to amend your tax return.

Contact Information: For refund requests or questions, contact us at refund@theavodah.org or 732.829.2249.
